Felix Art Fair: Group Presentation
For Felix 2026, Megan Mulrooney presents a group presentation centered on performance: its stages, roles, and the theatricality of contemporary life. A fitting presentation for the Hollywood Roosevelt, the project draws on the building’s long association with show business while expanding the idea of performance beyond entertainment.
Grace Bromley’s paintings explore the architecture of theater, using curtains, wings, and scenic thresholds as metaphors for revelation and concealment. Jonathan Ryan, Marco Bizzarri and Kevin Yaun find stage-like or screen-like formations in the natural world. Meanwhile, Falon Stutzman, Piper Bangs and Nicolette Mishkan reimagine stock characters for the present, using stock characters to examine the social roles we slip into daily. Josh Cloud and RF Alvarez consider performance at the level of identity, surfacing the masks and pressures that shape selfhood in the current cultural climate. Photographer Rosie Clements and painter Flora Temnouche turns her attention to the ways people perform for the camera, capturing moments in which self-presentation becomes porous. Together, these artists and others treat performance not as a mode of spectacle but as a fundamental human condition, something rehearsed, enacted, and constantly undergoing revision.
Exhibited artists include: TJ Rinoski, Falon Stutzman, RF. Alvarez, James Cherry, Jonathan Ryan, Kevin Yaun, Marco Bizzarri, Josh Cloud, Maddy Inez, Piper Bangs, Rosie Clements, Flora Temnouche, and Nicolette Mishkan
