This piece reimagines fragments of New York’s 1970s weed culture — a city of smoke, music, and endless nights. Hand-built from porcelain, each object becomes an artefact of a time I never lived, yet long to picture. The ashtray immortalises these fleeting traces — burnt-out cigarettes, half-rolled joints, and matchbooks from places now gone — turning moments once ephemeral into something permanent. It’s an act of muddling through memory, where nostalgia and imagination blur into one.
