Gloaming Death Bloom - This is the first large scale painting I’ve made in ten years. The horizontal orientation of the canvas demanded that I paint a landscape on it. I knew I wanted it to depict an imagined alien future and feature a smog sky at dusk with a death bloom and a topiary. In this painting, I employed atmospheric perspective to depict flowers in a distant graveyard with a large stone grave.
