This work is based on the Whispering Bells plant, named for the faint, delicate sound its bell-shaped flowers make when stirred by the wind. The blooms hang in loose clusters, their form and movement lending the plant its poetic name. Drawn to the quiet resonance of both the flower and its title, the artist chose to preserve the name Whispering Bells for this piece.
